Stephanie Askins, LMSW

Director

Stephanie Askins, LMSW is a clinical social worker who directly serves the brain injury population through her work with Rehab Without Walls, where she gets to regularly witness the impact Small Victories has on patient recovery and sense of purpose.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Stephanie’s professional experience began in HIV education and has included extensive work with chronically mentally ill, substance dependent, homeless and older adult populations in a variety of settings including shelters, psychiatric hospitals, home health and treatment centers.

Stephanie’s work in public health and international social work was located primarily in sub-Saharan Africa where she collaborated to support capacity development of local training designers and healthcare workers. She currently consults for the Addiction Research Institute within the University of Texas School of Social Work.

As a lifelong enthusiast of dance and music, Stephanie strongly believes in the power of the arts to heal, grow, and make this life more worthwhile.
